Alain Vauthier (Owner of Château Ausone), is the sole owner of the winery. In 2008, he devoted the resources necessary to officially classify the Simard vineyard as Grand Cru. Château Simard has built its reputation on delivering those wines at exceptional value.

This 2005 displays a hints of berries, violets and earth. In the mouth, flavors of cassis, black cherry and plum expand within a good, round structure; medium length and plenty of aging potential.
